Of course. Call your Internet Service provider to give you a FIXED IP address.

Let’s work out the math. Let’s say tha you buy a Fixed IP address and it costs $100 per month. Don’t expect it to be cheap.

Then consider the really nice Server that you buy. Let’s say that you go with a medium budget and spend $1000 for the computer. Of course, if you go LINUX, that software will be free, but Windows 2003 Server will cost you around $1,000.

With your own server, that means BACKUPS and other maintenance. If you go Windows, that means that you need added security. Obviously, I recommend LINUX as your operating system…Hey, but I don’t have a clue what you want to do.

Now look at a RENTED shared hosting: Extra low priced service, but shared server and shared SSL certificate. This works, but it you are not alone. Obviously, you would MOVE to other services if you exeedd the monthly bandwidth limit regularly. Take a close look at at their LINUX server services. This is under $50 per YEAR, plus Domain Name(s).

If you are planning multiple websites and want individual website SSL certificate, then go with Host Gator. See
Again, this is under $60 per YEAR, plus $75 for SSL.

The lower maintenance costs of rented hosting is well worth the hassle of being able to say “I do it myself”.

Good luck.
